Ryder's been busy putting in miles on Maui, where he has based his off season training for the last few years.  On this day, Ryder joins Andy Hampsten, "Waterman' Laird Hamilton, Maui Cyclery's Donnie Arnoult for a training ride along Maui's eastern coastline.

Training a mere 1 class a week wasn’t enough for her, and soon, Sarah was training in every class offered: muay thai, grappling, BJJ. 6 years have passed, and she continues to be just as committed, earning her black belt under Adam Zugec, and her blue belt (4 stripes) in BJJ under Marcus Soares and Adam Zugec.  Also an accomplished professional mixed martial arts fighter (7-0), Sarah is the first, and only, Hardcore Championship Fighting World Title holder.'

The Haleakala record attempt. Ryder capped off his winter training season on Maui with a motivational attempt at breaking the speed record up the Haleakala Crater, set in 1993 by Jonathan Vaughters. It should be noted that Ryder's attempts were done out of the official Haleakala Summit race - Cycle To The Sun.
